Qualwood Custom Contemporary Hangers are top quality hangers for your best quilts or rugs.  They have simple, clean lines that go with any wall hanging.  Each is custom made in any length to 60".  

The hangers work by squeezing the fabric between two pieces of wood.  You control how hard they squeeze by tightening a series of hidden screws on the back.  The front piece, that shows when hanging on the wall, is 1½" high.  Hangers are usually sized to be the same length as the top of the rug or quilt.  A bit shorter is OK, but if it is longer the slightly higher back piece will be visible on the ends.  

The hangers have keyhole slots on the back that hang on screws in the wall.  They easily hold thin fabric, quilts or rugs up to 3/8" thick.  See the Installation Hints. 

Cherry Hanger

The hangers have a satin smooth finish.  Standard finish colors are natural, walnut, cherry or antique cherry.  See the Finish colors.   We also offer:

Basic Black:  Maybe it's for a Two Gray Hills Navajo rug.  Or maybe its for a silk wall hanging.  But there are some times when only black will do. We offer a classic black semi gloss finish. There is a $10 additional fee for this special finish.

Unfinished:  Our finish colors are right for most situations but sometimes you want something different.  A yellow hanger might be perfect for that quilt in the baby's room or you may want to match a piece of furniture you refinished.  We offer our hangers unfinished, sanded and ready for your paint or stain.  You get the color you want and save from $6.00 to $20.00 depending on length.   (Final prices are shown on the shopping cart page.)

Are you hanging a heavy, thick rug or one that has a stiff backing?  

This Contemporary Hanger might not be the best hanger for you.  This hanger is great for quilts, Southwest woven rugs and many thinner wall hangings.  But if the rug is over about 3/8" thick, is very heavy or if it has a stiff backing the hanger may not grip properly.  For those cases we offer our Thick Carpet Hanger.  It is slightly larger and is made differently internally so it will grip a thick or stiff rug.
